When Liv and Evan contacted me to photograph their elopement in Jasper, I knew we were going to be a perfect match. When hiring vendors for your wedding, it’s important to make sure your visions align with theirs. The same goes for us vendors! Sometimes we need to tell our clients that maybe we aren’t the right fit for the service they are looking for. This was not the case for Liv and Evan! They contacted me 2 weeks before their plans to elope in Jasper and from our initial contact Liv treated me as if I were a part of her wedding, not just a vendor working for her. This kindness carried on throughout our communication over the next two weeks. during their time in Jasper, and remains until this day.

When Liv and Evan started dating she created drawings (she’s an incredibly talented Architectural Designer) in The Black Hunter by James Oliver Curwood. During their ceremony they shared a memory box of heirlooms that were special to them and their relationship. On one of the pages Liv wrote, “I want a marriage more beautiful than my wedding.” Based on the love I witnessed between this couple, and the testimonials from their 2 friends who attended their wedding, I can assure you Liv will get exactly what she wants. She had a beautiful elopement in Jasper and I’m confident her marriage with Evan will be even more beautiful.

Here's their story

Their story is quite unique. Liv is from Norway and Evan is from Canada. They had planned a large wedding in Norway until they found out the complications and restrictions of a Canadian getting married in Norway. This is why they decided on a last minute elopement with 2 friends in Jasper National Park. They hadn’t even told their families yet!!

I met Liv in her hotel room at Athabasca Hotel, to capture some moments of her getting ready. I always provide couples with a list of how to prepare for my arrival. Liv followed everything I had told her and brought along some heirlooms that are important to their relationship which I was able to incorporate into her photos. I encourage you to bring along these special pieces as it will give your photos so much more meaning.

I AM! 100% I am! It is such an intimate moment shared between a bride and groom - just the two of them (and their photographer often sneaking around in the bushes capturing it from every angle). The expressions are raw, the emotions are elevated, it’s the best! I always try to encourage a First Look to my clients.

Sealed with a kiss and ready for a picnic with champagne, cheese, baked goods and so many laughs! I always feel like I am a part of these smaller elopement style weddings. I’m not just capturing these images for a client, these clients become my friends, I become a part of their journey, and they become a part of mine. Also, if they pour me a glass of champagne I’m not going to let it go to waste!
