Walking on Thick Ice | Pyramid Lake Jasper Proposal

Curtis contacted me weeks ago as he was looking for a photographer in Jasper to document his surprise proposal to his girlfriend Kiera on their trip to Jasper. We had been texting all morning as he was giving me updates about where they were and how much longer it would be until they arrived at the spot we decided on at Pyramid Lake.

I was hiding anxiously off to the side, playing the part of the lingering tourist, when they showed up and watched as Curtis tried to convince Kiera that the ice was thick enough for her to walk on to these rocks. After some persuading he managed to make it to the tip of the rocks, “Face the mountain I want to get a picture of you and Zoey”, he reached into his pocket to grab his ‘phone’ - that was my cue.

I’m not even sure if she said yes or not but the huge smiles, streams of tears (from myself included), and their embrace gave me an indication she may have.

Kudos to Curtis for his efforts and congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
