It’s rare that my clients are local to Jasper, which made this wedding extra fun to photograph! Clint & Frankie are what I like to call - a power couple. Up at the crack of dawn, always being active whether it be yoga, climbing or hiking, and they support each others dreams and desires. All of this shone through their wedding day under the solstice sun.

Since they had family coming from all over the world, they started their weekend of love with a Welcome Dinner at Folding Mountain Brewery (I can highly recommend this brewery when you’re on your way to Jasper - family friendly, great food, and even better beer!).

On the morning of the wedding, I drove out to Overlander Mountain Lodge to meet the bridal party as they got ready for the main event. I loved the connection between each member of the bridal party, they were relaxed, having fun, and just wanted to make sure Clint and Frankie had the most incredible day. If you’re ever in a bridal party - be like that!

There’s something so common I find at weddings. Everyone’s relaxed and enjoying the ‘getting ready’ process until 20 minutes before the ceremony - then it’s chaos! Surely there’s a ‘getting ready checklist’ for the bridesmaids/groomsmen to go over an hour before the ceremony to make sure everything’s sorted and organized. I recommend you come up with one before your wedding, also .. the ceremony literally can’t start without you so relax, it’s YOUR day after all!

See those clouds that slowly came creeping in during the ceremony? They lingered around for a bit while the newlyweds were catching up with family and friends and decided to rain on us JUST as we went to take a few portraits! We hid under a few trees (and a veil) before deciding to head back to the Lodge and try again later. When the rain cleared, the flowers were traded for wine glasses and we headed out for some portraits!
